There are now two online Green Belt courses: the regular track, and the new healthcare track! The regular track Green Belt course incorporates a case study involving a manufacturer in a regulated industry experiencing quality and order fulfillment problems as it tries to grow. The healthcare track uses examples and data specifically from the healthcare industry, and asks students to perform exercises based on their workplaces.
For either track, the 8-week Six Sigma Green Belt online certification requires successful completion of online assignments and passing scores on three exams taken in weeks 4, 6 and 8. The Green Belt curriculum is accredited by the Council for Six Sigma Certification.
The online Green Belt class is compatible with Blackboard, D2L and Moodle, and incorporates voice-over Power Point presentations, printable handouts, discussion forum assignments, quizzes, exams and a weekly live online meeting with the instructor.
Course material is presented using lecture videos and reinforced with discussion assignments. A course spreadsheet containing document templates, data, statistical calculators and reference tables is also used. Students should have experience creating graphs and using formulas in Excel, as well as facility in solving algebraic equations. Weekly live meetings with the instructor are recorded and archived for future viewing if students are unable to attend .
